Practical Workshops

Would you like to learn more about gardening but don’t feel that listening to talks is right for you or doesn’t fit your lifestyle? Would you feel happier if you had the oportunity to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty?

Our Practical Workshops are designed to fit around busy lifestyles and usually take place on Sunday afternoons. We hope this format will provide the opportunity for experienced gardeners to share their knowledge and experience with newer gardeners in a relaxed environment. Some sessions will be aimed at a particular level but most will be suitable for everyone including families with children. Please contact Sharon on 01865 820399 or email us at skbgardeningclub@gmail.com for more information.

Village Hall borders

This is an ongoing project. In Autumn 2022 we started creating a series of ornamental borders behind Southmoor Village Hall. In 2023 we planted some of them with lavenders and roses and another with sunflowers, helped by children from the village. The border has now been replanted with drought-tolerant, low-maintenance planting and we wait to see how it will perform. During 2024 we’ll aim to keep these maintained, possibly extend them and add more plants.

Dates for working parties will be announced nearer the time. Why not come along and meet other gardeners, pick up some tips and contribute to something good?
