Welcome

Are you green fingered or wish you were? Or maybe you’re just interested in nature and the environment? Then, why not come along to the village’s thriving Gardening Club! We run a range of horticultural and nature-focused talks and workshops to inform, entertain and help you improve your gardening knowledge and skills. We also have regular social events including tea and coffee at each meeting as well as the occasional garden visit which offer good opportunity to meet like-minded people of all ages. We organise the annual Village Show too, so no excuse to sit at home feeling bored or lonely!

Village Show

This is one of the highlights of our year. Both members and non-members alike can enter produce, plants, crafts, cookery and even photographs for the chance to win one of the coveted Gardening Club cups. There’s a mixture of keenly contested vegetable, flower and cookery classes, as well as the fun of entering something. It’s also a great afternoon out to enjoy the fabulous displays and sampling some of the home-baked produce. The show is held in September at the Village Hall.

Monthly talks

The club’s regular talks take place on the first Tuesday of most months at 7.30pm and are held in the Village Hall. Our guest speakers present and provide practical demonstrations on a wide range of topics. Non-members are welcome for a small fee. View our 2025 Programme.

Practical Workshops

Come along and get your hands dirty! Informal, hands on sessions where you can learn from experienced gardeners, watch, learn and have a go yourself.  Details of these can be found on our Practical Workshops page.

Garden visits

The club is planning visits to Tiggywinkles Animal Rescue Centre in Haddenham and there may be other visits. Let us know if you have suggestions! Remember, members are able to borrow our Club RHS Membership card which gives free entry to any of the RHS gardens. To keep up to date see our 2025 Programme .

The club holds an ever-popular summer garden party in July, and a Christmas party in December. Details of these are on our 2025 Programme .
