365 Days of Colour: Karen Gimson

BBC Radio Leicester gardening expert and award winning garden designer, Karen Gimson, will give us ideas for how to fill our garden with colour every day of the year.

This meeting will be hosted via Zoom. Members will receive a link with the invitation a few days before the meeting. If you’d like to attend as a guest, please call Sharon on 01865 820399.

The Good Life…Grow Your Own!: Maurice Bichard

Lifelong gardener, Maurice, will share his experiences of aiming to become self- sufficient and Creating a Kitchen Garden from Scratch. This will be of interest to experienced gardeners who can exchange tips and ideas and will also be of interest to new gardeners.

Maurice will be following up this talk with a series of four practical workshops. These will be aimed at new gardeners who would like help in getting started. Find out more about our Practical Workshops.

Inside secrets about how Rob’s team keeps Waterperry Gardens looking fabulous for the public.                 .

A visit to the beautiful gardens at Waterperry will follow later in the year.

Making More of Your Garden: Sue Bedwell

Sue has opened her own garden to the public in the past; it’s been described as “packed full of abundant surprises” and “a must-see for anyone with an eye for detail or unusual planting ideas” so we’re hoping she’ll have some great ideas to share with us.

Aquaponics: Oliver O’Dell

Growing food differently: no soil, no chemicals and 95% less water. The origins, principles and challenges! Plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

Meet the fish! A tour of Smart-Greens near Faringdon will follow on Saturday 7th May. This is free and is for members or anyone who attended the Aquaponics talk as a visitor.

Following on from Oliver’s talk on 3rd May, he will give us a tour of Smart-Greens facility near Faringdon and show us Aquaponics in action. This is free and is for members or anyone who attended the Aquaponics talk as a visitor. Tour starts at 2pm and more details will follow nearer the time.

Clematis All Year: Keith Shortland

Keith Shortland is an experienced and RHS qualified gardener, who is a member of the British Clematis Society. On offer is an insight into clematis, to help fellow gardeners to discover and enjoy clematis – How to choose the clematis you want, buying plants, care, maintenance, pruning groups and propagation.
