Or maybe you&#8217;re just interested in nature and the environment? Then, why not come along to the village\u2019s thriving Gardening Club! We run a range of horticultural and nature-focused talks and workshops to inform, entertain and help you improve your gardening knowledge and skills. We also have regular social events including tea and coffee at each meeting as well as the occasional garden visit which offer good opportunity to meet like-minded people of all ages. We organise the annual Village Show too, so no excuse to sit at home feeling bored or lonely!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Village Show<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is one of the highlights of our year. Both members and non-members alike can enter produce, plants, crafts, cookery and even photographs for the chance to win one of the coveted Gardening Club cups. There\u2019s a mixture of keenly contested vegetable, flower and cookery classes, as well as the fun of entering something. It\u2019s also a great afternoon out to enjoy the fabulous displays and sampling some of the home-baked produce. The show is held in September at the Village Hall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/village-show\/\">Find out more<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monthly talks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s regular talks take place on the first Tuesday of most months at 7.30pm and are held in the Village Hall. Our guest speakers present and provide practical demonstrations on a wide range of topics. Non-members are welcome for a small fee. View our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skbgardeningclub.org.uk\/2025-programme\/\">2025 Programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Practical Workshops<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Come along and get your hands dirty! Informal, hands on sessions where you can learn from experienced gardeners, watch, learn and have a go yourself.\u00a0 Details of these can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skbgardeningclub.org.uk\/practical-workshops\/\">Practical Workshops<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garden visits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The club is planning visits to Tiggywinkles Animal Rescue Centre in Haddenham and there may be other visits. Let us know if you have suggestions! Remember, members are able to borrow our Club RHS Membership card which gives free entry to any of the RHS gardens. Details of these are on our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.skbgardeningclub.org.uk\/2025-programme\/\">2025 Programme<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prices and membership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Entry to meetings is free for members and \u00a34 for visitors. Membership is currently \u00a315 per year. In 2025, this gives free entry to 8 talks on a variety of subjects and use of our RHS membership card. There&#8217;s free tea and coffee at the meetings too so, all in all, quite a bargain!
